Rainer Lanz has extensive work experience in international policy analysis. Rainer started their career at the OECD in 2008, where they served as a Policy Analyst and Consultant in the Trade and Agriculture Directorate. In these roles, they focused on trade analysis, particularly in the services trade sector. Rainer contributed to projects such as the Services Trade Restrictiveness Index and the analysis of trade flows in global production networks. In 2012, Rainer joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) as an Economic Affairs Officer. Rainer then advanced to the position of Policy Analyst, where they currently work.
Rainer Lanz completed their PhD in Economics at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München from 2005 to 2010. Prior to that, they pursued their Magister degree in International Business Studies and Economics at Leopold-Franzens Universität Innsbruck, from 2000 to 2005. In 2004, Rainer Lanz had a brief academic experience at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, and in 2002-2003, they attended Aston University. However, no specific degree or field of study was mentioned for the latter two institutions.
