Deborah Ackerman

Director, Brand And Communications Strategy at World Wildlife Fund

Deborah Ackerman has extensive experience in brand and communications strategy, currently serving as the Director of Brand and Communications Strategy at the World Wildlife Fund since 2008. In this role, Deborah advises senior leadership and cross-programmatic teams on significant initiatives, developing strategic communication approaches to enhance WWF's impact. Previous positions include Manager of Strategic and Brand Communications and Senior Writer and Creative Strategist, where Deborah led branding strategies and produced award-winning content to elevate engagement and awareness. Prior to WWF, Deborah held leadership and writing positions at Mind & Media, Inc., provided consulting services, and worked as an editor and writer at Leap Wireless International, Inc. Deborah holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Arizona State University, a BA in English Literature with concentrations in Journalism and Sociology from the University of Maryland, and additional education from Cornell University.
