Susan McCarthy

Susan McCarthy has over a decade of experience in media and external affairs, currently serving as the Director of Media & External Affairs at the World Wildlife Fund since November 2014, after progressing through roles including Deputy Director and Senior Specialist. Prior to this, McCarthy worked as Senior Manager of Advocacy Communications at the American Diabetes Association from April 2012 to November 2014, and held various positions at GMMB from January 2008 to May 2012, starting as an Assistant Account Executive and advancing to Senior Account Executive. Earlier experience includes coaching varsity swimming at Bishop Fenwick High School and serving as a Tour Consultant for EF Educational Tours. McCarthy began their career as a Media Relations Intern at Aspect Communications Group, supporting media relations and events for clients like HSBC and Vodafone. McCarthy earned a BA in Communication from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and completed a London Semester in Media Relations and British Culture through CEA CAPA Education Abroad.
