Sunil Rongala

Sunil Rongala has a strong background in strategy, innovation, and analytics, with extensive experience in the payments industry. Sunil currently holds the position of Senior Vice President and Head of Strategy, Innovation, and Analytics at Worldline, where they lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives. Prior to this, Sunil served as Vice President in the same department at Worldline.

Before joining Worldline, Sunil worked at MRL Posnet (P) Limited, where they were a key member of the founding management team. During their tenure, they served as Chief Risk Officer and played a crucial role in establishing and managing the Risk Containment and Disputes Management unit. Sunil was instrumental in developing a fraud containment tool called Analytica, which effectively prevented fraud and resulted in significant savings for the company. Sunil also enabled the provision of risk underwriting services to several banks and financial organizations.

Earlier in their career, Sunil worked at Deloitte & Touche as a Manager, focusing on economic research. Sunil co-authored publications such as the Asia-Pacific Economic Outlook and Global Economic Outlook, which were highly regarded within the industry. Prior to that, they served as Group Economist at the Murugappa Group, where they provided macroeconomic analysis and advice to the corporate board and group companies. Sunil also contributed to group-level strategy planning and mergers and acquisitions.

Sunil began their career as an Economist at HCL Technologies, where they gained experience in economic analysis. Sunil holds a strong track record of driving innovation, enhancing risk management, and providing strategic guidance in various industries.

Sunil Rongala obtained a Ph.D in Economics from Claremont Graduate University from 1997 to 2003. Prior to that, they completed a P.G. Diploma in Economics at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 1995 to 1996. In addition, they have obtained certifications in French language proficiency from Speexx at various levels in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
