Shaun Smith

Shaun Smith is a prominent figure in the culinary and hospitality sectors, serving as the President of Africa Chefs Alliance since November 2021 and as the WorldSkills Africa Chief Expert since January 2020. In addition to these roles, Shaun functions as the Chair of the Hospitality & Tourism Chamber for APPETD and is a Director for both the South African Culinary & Hospitality Educators Forum (SACHEF) and the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs JCR Advisory Board. As Principal and Assessment Manager of The Fusion Cooking School, Shaun co-manages campuses in Westville and Musgrave, where the focus is on teaching the art and science of cooking. Shaun also owns and operates two restaurants, Fusion French Cafe and Fusion World Food Cafe, in Durban. Complementing these professional endeavors, Shaun has held multiple educational qualifications, including a BTh in Ethics and various culinary certifications from esteemed institutions.
