Matt Cooper has extensive experience in the field of clinical research and oncology. Matt'smost recent position was as the Executive Director and Oncology Strategy Lead at Worldwide Clinical Trials, where they focused on conducting meaningful oncology research. Prior to this, they served as the General Manager of Oncology at Panthera Biopartners, where they developed and executed the strategy for oncology clinical research in the UK. Matt also held leadership roles in organizations such as the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, DATA-CAN, and the NIHR Clinical Research Network, where they contributed to the advancement and expansion of clinical research studies and partnerships. Matt'searlier experience includes positions at the National Cancer Research Network, the Section of Musculoskeletal Disease at the Leeds Institute of Molecular Medicine, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and AstraZeneca, where they conducted clinical research studies in various therapy areas.
Matt Cooper completed their education at the University of Leeds, where they obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Microbiology in 1992. Matt then went on to pursue a PhD in Molecular Virology at the same university from 1993 to 1997. In 2014, they attended the Cranfield School of Management for the Cranfield Executive Directors Programme. In 2017 and 2019, Matt Cooper received a Certificate of Company Direction and studied the Role of the Non-Executive Director at the Institute of Directors (IoD), respectively.
