Gail Folkins

Gail Folkins is a seasoned communications professional and educator with extensive experience in writing, editing, and teaching. Currently serving as a Communications Coordinator at the City of Issaquah and a Freelance Writer since 2016, Gail has a diverse portfolio that includes content across various subjects such as environmental science and popular culture. Prior positions include Communications Specialist at the City of Snoqualmie, Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and Interim Chair of the Creative Writing Department at Austin Community College. Gail's literary contributions include the acclaimed nonfiction works "Texas Dance Halls: A Two Step Circuit" and "Light in the Trees." An English instructor at Hugo House, Gail has taught courses in creative nonfiction, literary journalism, and environmental writing. With a Ph.D. in English and Creative Writing from Texas Tech University, Gail brings expertise in both academic and creative writing to diverse audiences.
