Kent Syler is a seasoned academic and political expert, currently serving as a Professor of Political Science and Special Projects Coordinator at Middle Tennessee State University since August 2011. Additionally, Kent Syler has contributed as a Political Analyst for WSMV since January 2016 and was a Winter School Lecturer at Sciences Po from January 2015 to December 2017. Previously, Kent Syler held the position of Adjunct Professor of Political Science at MTSU from January 2002 to May 2011 and served as the Tennessee Chief of Staff for U.S. Representative Bart Gordon from January 1985 to January 2011. Kent Syler earned both BS and MA degrees in Sociology from Middle Tennessee State University between 1976 and 1981.
