Cheyenne Corin joined the WTOP News team in February 2023.
Prior to this role she was a Montgomery County bureau reporter at WDVM/DC News Now.
She began her career spending four years in her home state of Pennsylvania as a junior reporter for Fox29. She then went on to become a production coordinator and fill-in reporter for Nexstar’s Philadelphia station PHL17.
Cheyenne takes pride in her ability to connect with the community and share the stories that matter most to them. Her passion for journalism was born out of her desire to build trust and provide a platform for those who are underrepresented to share their voices. Throughout her career, Cheyenne has covered events such as the BLM protests following George Floyd’s death, the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling, the Silver Spring and Gaithersburg building explosions, and the Van Ness shooting. Cheyenne also has experience covering elections, most notably the 2020 Democratic New Hampshire Primary.
Cheyenne also has more than five years of experience as a Hollywood Entertainment Host. She has interviewed celebrities such as cast members from “The Real Housewives” franchises to artists Stephanie Mills, Yolanda Adams, and Master P as well as actors from HBO & ABC series “The Chi” & “How to Get Away With Murder.”
Cheyenne graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Communication Studies and Women and Gender Studies. She then went on to obtain a Master’s of Journalism from Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communication.
Cheyenne is active in her community as a volunteer and public speaker. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, NAACP, For(bes) the Culture, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and a Lupus Foundation Ambassador. She also mentors students from her alma maters pursuing careers in journalism.
