Strategic Partner Manager at X, the moonshot factory

Derek Werdenberg has a diverse work experience starting in 2008. From 2008 to 2009, they worked in sales at WKMG-TV, where they examined websites, supervised a team, and coordinated management conferences. In 2009, they joined Kraft Foods as a Sales INROADS intern, where they supervised sales territories, managed logistics, and shadowed marketing and customer business teams. In 2010, they joined Google as a Google Student Ambassador, collaborating with various teams to deliver market information. Derek also served as an Inside Sales Manager, facilitating the selling of AdWords by providing market-specific data. In 2011, they briefly worked at YouTube as an Interactive Producer, participating in global launches and conducting competitive analysis. Derek rejoined Google in 2011 and held a series of roles until 2016, including Senior Strategist and Product Specialist, with responsibilities ranging from defining and measuring global SMB operations to leading infrastructure strategy. Since 2017, Derek has been working at X, the moonshot factory, where they started as a co-founder and program manager of Delta, a moonshot project addressing food waste and food insecurity. Derek then transitioned to the role of Program Manager for a second moonshot focusing on supply chain transparency. In January 2021, they became a Strategic Partner Manager.

Derek Werdenberg attended the University of Central Florida from 2008 to 2012. Derek completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Marketing during this time. In 2011, they briefly attended Harvard Business School, where they completed the SVMP program in Management.
