Sunny Lin has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Currently, Sunny works as a Power System Engineer - Tapestry at X, the moonshot factory and as a Technical Program Manager at Google. Previously, Sunny worked at ComEd, where they served as a Relay & Protection Engineer and a Distribution Planning Engineer. In these roles, Sunny led relay analysis for the installation of a new station in Chicago, collaborated across departments, and oversaw critical areas within the city, including the Bronzeville Community Microgrid. Prior to ComEd, Sunny interned as a Capacity Planning Engineer and a Transmission Planning Engineer at ComEd. They also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Illinois Institute of Technology and as a Test Engineer Intern at Molex.
Sunny Lin completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology from 2016 to 2017. Prior to that, from 2013 to 2016, Sunny also obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the same institution. In terms of certifications, Sunny achieved a Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification from Molex in August 2015. Additionally, Sunny obtained a License Professional Engineer certification from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in April 2022. Sunny also completed the "Foundations of Project Management" course from Coursera in October 2022. Most recently, in August 2023, Sunny obtained two more certifications from Coursera: "Ask Questions to Make Data-Driven Decisions" and "Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate: Foundations: Data, Data, Everywhere."
