Michael Palmer has worked in a variety of roles in the technology industry since 1982. Michael began their career in the U.S. Coast Guard, where they served as a Senior Petty Officer. During this time, they acquired job experience in basic cable management, routers, hubs, switches, configuring networks, TCP/IP protocols, and assembly, service, and repair of PC hardware and software. After leaving the Coast Guard, they worked as a Core RISDN & ADSL Technical Support/Helpdesk II Rep. for Verizon Small Business. In 2005, they became a Dell Certified Systems Engineer and a Badged Client Engineer through Unisys. Michael also worked as a Storage Administrator contracted through Apex Systems, Inc. for IBM. At IBM, they also worked as a Senior Technical Support Engineer and a Product Field Engineer. From 2014 to 2018, they worked as a System x Tech Lead - Outbound Configuration, Operations for Xchange Technology Group. Michael is currently retired from DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
Michael Palmer obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems from Saint Leo University between 1998 and 2004. In 2005, they obtained an A+ Certification in Software and Hardware Training from Tidewater Community College. That same year, they also attended Old Dominion University for Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, but did not obtain a degree. In 2007, they obtained Certifications from the EMC Training Center in Franklin, MA for CLARiiON CX4 Installation and Implementation, Celerra NS Series Installation and Maintenance, and Centera Installation and Maintenance. Michael also obtained a Certification from Unisys University in Lisle, IL for Dell Enterprise Service Force and CLARiiON Core SAN. In 2014, they completed Multiple Knowledge Base Studies in Management Information Systems, General from Skillsoft Skillport Knowledge Base Training.
