Hongliang Zhang is a Professor at Xiamen University since February 2017 and has simultaneously served as a Hechel Smith Fellow at the University of Cambridge since January 2015, focusing on functional metal oxide nanostructures and thin films. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral position at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory from February 2012 to December 2014, specializing in perovskite oxide thin films, and completing a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Oxford from October 2008 to December 2011, where the research emphasized the electronic and optical properties of indium oxide as a transparent conducting oxide.
