Michael Zabala has over 15 years of work experience. Their career began in 2005 as a Cooperative Education Student at Rolls-Royce North America. The following year, they moved to Rolls-Royce, where they participated in design of a "cover plate" for a major engine project and researched and found solutions to vibration problems in a large commercial engine. In 2008, they became a PhD Student-Biomechanical Engineering at Stanford University. In 2013, they joined Exponent as a Senior Associate in their Biomechanics practice. In 2016, they began working at Auburn University as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. In 2019, they founded and became Chairman and CEO of XO Armor Technologies LLC.
Michael Zabala attended Auburn University from 2003 to 2007, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Michael then attended Stanford University from 2008 to 2013, where they obtained a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering-Biomechanics and a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering-Biomechanics.
