Cheryl Zandvliet's work experience includes roles at various companies and in different industries. Cheryl started their career as an Administrative Employee and Assistant Purchasing at Pall Medistad BV, where they assisted colleagues with purchasing tasks and communicated with suppliers. Cheryl then interned at Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance.
In 2013, Cheryl joined Studiekring as an Educational Assistant and Senior Exam Trainer, providing study guidance in subjects like mathematics and physics to students of different age groups. Cheryl held this position until 2015.
In 2016, Cheryl worked at EXSYN Aviation Company as a Graduation Researcher in product development. Cheryl also worked as a Graduate Researcher at KLM in their Operations Research department, where they contributed to data science projects and developed recommender systems and text mining projects using Pyspark and Python.
Cheryl further expanded their data science skills at Xomnia, where they began as a Trainee and later progressed to becoming a Data Scientist. During their time at Coolblue as a Full Stack Data Scientist, Cheryl worked on a range of projects including recommender systems, dynamic pricing, and bid management, with a special focus on productionizing solutions.
Cheryl'smost recent role is as a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Xomnia, where they are responsible for a team of ML engineers and works on various machine learning modeling and application projects, as well as building data platforms.
Cheryl Zandvliet holds a Master's Degree in Information Studies: Data Science from the University of Amsterdam. Cheryl obtained this degree from 2016 to 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Engineering from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences from 2012 to 2016. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained certifications such as The Unix Workbench by Johns Hopkins University in January 2018, Machine Learning by Stanford University in January 2017, and Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) from Cambridge English Language Assessment in June 2009.
