Hongtao Yu

Hongtao Yu is a Senior Staff Software Engineer at XPENG, where responsibilities include the development of autonomous driving algorithms since June 2018. Previous experience includes a role as Feature Algorithm Development Engineer at Aptiv, focusing on ADAS and autonomous driving algorithms, and a Research Assistant position at Texas A&M University, where Hongtao Yu built a three-dimensional vehicle model in Matlab/Simulink. Additional internships include work at Ford Motor Company, developing a game theory-based controller for autonomous vehicles, and engineering roles at Penn State University and Harbin Institute of Technology, where research involved gene expression data analysis and robotic simulations, respectively. Hongtao Yu holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology.
