Graham J Orr has worked in a variety of roles in the aerospace industry since 2004. In 2004, they began working as an Assistant Engineer (APT) at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where they prepared, wired, moved and installed electronic ground support equipment for the Mars Science Laboratory Descent Stage Test Systems. In 2007, they became an Academic Researcher and Team Leader at Harvey Mudd College, where they led a team in the Experimental Engineering Development and Engineering Clinic Applied Research. In 2009, they were an Aerospace Engineer at Blue Origin, where they designed a 165,000 lbf LOX/LH2 facility with 5x load margins. In 2012, they were a Propulsion Consultant/Contractor at Virgin Galactic, where they worked as a System Engineer for the 25,000 lbf “Necker-1” Liquid Rocket Engine Test Facility and as an Engineer/Analyst for Liquid Engine Subsystems & Components. In 2013, they were a Propulsion Consultant at Firefly Space Systems. In 2014, they founded Xplicit Computing, Inc., where they introduced a server-client architecture for heterogeneous numerical computing, enabling scalable technical work-flows and concurrent user access. In 2019, they began working as a Senior Associate at Crean & Associates.
Graham J Orr attended Harvey Mudd College from 2005 to 2009, where they earned a B.Sc. in General Engineering.
