Chris Hornbeck has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Chris started their career in 1989 as a Material Storage and Handling Specialist in the US Army, where they supervised warehouse operations and managed computer activities. From 1997 to 2005, Chris worked as a Systems Analyst at DSC Logistics, analyzing and troubleshooting technical issues. Chris then joined Cardiac Diagnostics as a Systems Administrator, responsible for the administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT equipment and software.

In 2006, Chris became the IT Director/Managing Consultant at Singer Networks, where they oversaw IT operations. Chris later joined Equilibrium IT Solutions in 2012, initially as a Systems Engineer and then as a Senior Systems Engineer and Technical Project Manager. In their role, they managed various projects, coordinated user training, and provided system engineering expertise.

Starting in 2021, Chris worked at Ntiva, Inc. as a Senior Solutions Architect, focusing on architectural solutions for clients. Chris is currently working at Xterra Solutions, Inc. as a Senior Systems Engineer.

Chris Hornbeck completed their education at multiple institutions. From 2002 to 2005, they attended the University of Phoenix as a Computer Engineering Major. Prior to that, from 1995 to 1997, they pursued studies at Penn State University. Additionally, from 1989 to 1994, Chris served in the United States Army. In terms of certifications, they obtained the following: ITIL Foundations from EXIN in June 2016, Palo Alto ACE (Accredited Configuration Engineer) from Palo Alto Networks in December 2015, VMware Certified Professional 5 - Data Center Virtualization from VMware in August 2013, and LogicMonitor Certified Associate from LogicMonitor, Inc. in July 2023. Furthermore, they hold certifications from Microsoft, including MCITP: Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008, MCP, and MCTS, although the specific dates of attainment are not provided.
