Cary Woods has an extensive work experience. Cary started as a System Analyst and Manufacturing Engineer at Allison Transmission/a div of GM in 1990. In 1997, they became a Faculty at the University of Indianapolis, teaching courses in bioinformatics, C++ and other business and technology topics. In 1998, they took on the role of Publisher at Envoi Publishing and Author for The Essentials Series (A Student Guide to College Admission). In 2004, they became a Research Associate at the Indiana University School of Medicine, and in 2005, they became the CEO of IndyBioSystems and an Advisory Board Member for Health Information Technology at Ivy Tech Community College. In 2007, they co-founded Xylogenics, Inc and became its Chairman, bioengineering yeasts to increase efficiency in the production of ethanol from biomass. In 2008, they became the Chairman of Sounds for Science. Cary also serves as an Adjunct Faculty at Purdue University.
Cary Woods obtained a Doctorate from Virginia University of Lynchburg in Health/Health Care Administration/Management. Cary then obtained a Masters from Indiana University Bloomington in Business Administration and Management, General. Cary also attended General Motors Institute for a Manufacturing Engineering degree. Additionally, they obtained a Google Cloud Digital Leadership Certification from Coursera in September 2021.
