Josh Waites has a diverse work experience in the field of smart locks and residential access. Josh is currently working as the Head of Product Unit - Residential Access for Yale Home Global since October 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Head of Product - Residential Access for Europe, Middle East, India, and Africa from July 2021 to October 2021.
Before joining Yale Home Global, Josh worked as a Smart Locks Product Manager for the same company from January 2019 to July 2021. During this time, they successfully launched the Yale Linus lock, the world's first Pan-European smart lock, and managed the Yale Doorman L3 project in Scandinavia. Josh was also responsible for looking after the current smart locks portfolio and developing the next generation of smart locks.
Josh started their career at ASSA ABLOY UK in August 2010 as an Electronic Project Engineer for Chubb Locks Custodial Services and Yale Smart Locks UK. In this role, they focused on electronic development, including designing new products and system architectures, as well as developing the flagship access control system. Josh worked in this position until March 2015.

Josh Waites earned a Bachelor's Degree in Network Computing and Multimedia Systems from Oxford Brookes University, starting in 2007 and completing in 2010. Prior to attending university, they attended Dame Alice Owens from 2000 to 2007, where they completed their A Level and GCSE studies. Additionally, they obtained the PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner certification from APMG-International in July 2011. Josh also earned the Cisco CCNA certification from Oxford Brookes University in the year 2010, although the specific month is unknown.
