Brent Backus

Brent Backus currently serves as District Service Manager at Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA, since January 2024, following a tenure at BRP US Inc. from January 2021 to January 2024 as Marine Propulsion Systems Field Product Specialist / After Sales NPD FPL. Prior to this, Brent held the role of Marine Propulsion Systems Technical Service Representative at BRP US Inc. from March 2002 to January 2023, where expertise was demonstrated as an industry-leading technical troubleshooter for marine propulsion and snowmobile dealer networks. Brent's career began at Webster's Marine Inc. as Service Manager and Lead Technician from August 1997 to March 2002, managing dealership service operations and specializing in various outboard brands. Earlier experience includes military service in the US Marine Corps from September 1989 to November 1996, where Brent served as a CH-46 Crew Chief with responsibilities in aviation maintenance and quality assurance. Brent holds a Certificate in Marine Mechanics from the Marine Mechanics Institute in Orlando, completed in 1997.
