Werner Strijewski has over 25 years of experience in the software development industry. Werner is currently working as a Principal Software Engineer at YAMAHA MOTOR CANADA LTD. Prior to this, they served as a Technical Team Lead at Wisetail from November 2019 to September 2021. From November 2011 to November 2019, they worked at ClearView Strategic Partners Inc. as the Chief Technology Officer, Software Development Lead, Information Security, and Architecture, where they played a significant role in architecting and leading the development of the ClearView Connects flagship product. Werner also set the development methodology, mentored the software engineering team, and developed the Information Security Program. Before that, they worked as a Lead Developer and Architect at CIBC from August 2005 to November 2011, where they designed and led the development of the President's Choice Financial transaction website. Werner also worked as a Java Developer at Points from August 2004 to August 2005, where they developed a system to handle retirement account transaction requests. Earlier in their career, they worked as a J2EE Developer at Intelliware from June 2001 to August 2004, and as a Software Contractor at LBC Networks from August 2000 to July 2001. Werner also worked as a C Development Contractor at Absolute Genius from May 2000 to August 2000. Werner began their career as an IT Specialist/Software Developer at IBM in September 1996, where they executed various assignments, including developing and maintaining software packaging and installation code for VisualAge for Java, improving the usability and stability of the Agent Workbench software, and redeveloping mainframe interfaces for Y2K readiness tests.
Werner Strijewski holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Werner also obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in 2016.
