Adam Williams has a diverse work experience in the engineering and transportation industries. Adam began their career as a Maintenance Engineer/Supervisor at Ford Motor Company, where they supervised tradespeople and carried out improvement projects. Adam then worked as a Senior Engineer at Toyota Motor Europe, managing a team and overseeing the introduction of various car models. After that, they joined Visy as a Production Manager, responsible for shop floor personnel and production output. Adam then transitioned to KM&T, where they rose to the position of Operations Director, leading turnaround interventions for clients in various industries. Adam later joined Downer as a General Manager, working on successful bids and the mobilization of rail projects. Adam then moved on to KiwiRail as the Executive General Manager for Rolling Stock, leading a team responsible for maintaining the rolling stock fleet. Currently, Adam is the Chief Assets Officer at Yarra Trams, leading a diverse team to ensure the smooth operation of Melbourne's tram network.
Adam Williams has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical from Monash University that they obtained from 1998 to 2002. Adam also completed their VCE at Melbourne High School from 1993 to 1996. In 2011 to 2013, Adam Williams pursued an MBA at Melbourne Business School. Adam further enhanced their education by completing the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2014, and Contract Law for Managers at The University of Auckland in 2018. Additionally, they obtained certifications such as Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Fellow of Engineers Australia in 2020, as well as Chinese Language - HSK Level 1 and Level 2 from the Hanban Institute in 2017.
