Kyle Hey

Kyle Hey is a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with extensive experience in the automotive and engineering sectors. Currently employed at YASA, specializing in e-motors for hybrid and electric vehicles since November 2018, Kyle has a strong background in powertrain engineering, having served as Powertrain Lead Engineer for the Oxford Brookes Racing Formula Student team from October 2017 to September 2018. Early career experiences include roles as a Vacation Student at National Petroleum Refiners of SA (NATREF), Sound Mining, and Thompson Racing, where Kyle gained hands-on experience with rotating machinery, solar power applications in mining, and rally car maintenance. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Motorsport Engineering from Oxford Brookes University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pretoria.
