John Merrison

John Merrison is a seasoned professional in the field of marketing and engineering with a wealth of experience spanning over three decades. Currently serving as the Senior Marketing Manager for Medium Voltage Drives at Yaskawa America, Inc. since March 2012, John has focused on new generation Variable Frequency Drives in North America. Previous roles include Director of Design & Development at American Superconductor, where John managed resources for power electronics in renewable energy, and R&D Manager at ABB, overseeing engineering resources for medium voltage drives. Additional experience at Eaton Electrical encompassed various managerial positions, including Program Manager and Engineering Manager, where John led initiatives in product development and integration across multiple locations. John began career at Rockwell Automation as Program Engineering Manager, responsible for product development and budget management. An alumnus of the University of Portsmouth, John holds a BSc in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Hons).
