Emily Collins, MSIR, PHR, SHRM-CP has a broad range of Human Resources experience. Emily began their career in 2008 as an Intern/Conference Coordinator for the Violence Intervention Prevention Center, where they were responsible for organizing conferences and leading groups of volunteers and facilitators. From 2010-2011, they worked as a Recruiter for Integrity Staffing Solutions, interviewing multiple candidates per day for warehouse positions for Amazon.com. In 2011, they joined Big Ass Fans as an HR Specialist, assigned to their corporate headquarters as part of their growing HR department. From 2014-2016, they were an HR Specialist for Toyota Tsusho America, Inc., a multi-market, multi-business enterprise. In 2016, they worked as a Director of Human Resources for Point3 Security, Inc., a growing start-up cyber security firm based in Baltimore, MD. Emily also worked as an HR Consultant for Dean Dorton from 2017-2016, providing customized HR support for a variety of clients across industries. From 2016-2020, they worked as an HR Generalist for NSG Pilkington, and since 2020, they have been a People Operations Generalist for Yello.co. In addition, Emily has provided freelance HR consulting services since 2016, serving a broad range of roles including recruiting, onboarding, handbook and other policy creation, employee relations, process creation and implementation, compensation, benefits administration, benefit vendor management, workers compensation, performance management, and other general HR areas.
Emily Collins completed a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Kentucky in 2009. Emily then went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resources from West Virginia University in 2010. Emily also holds two certifications, the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and the Society for Human Resource Management - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
