Jamil Bhuya has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as the Founder and CEO of Burgers n' Fries Forever in 2012. Jamil successfully established the business from scratch and scaled it into a multi-million dollar enterprise with multiple locations in two major cities. Jamil was responsible for various marketing strategies, including influencer marketing, content marketing, events, and digital advertisements. Jamil also implemented digital funnels and customer feedback strategies to enhance customer experience. Under their leadership, the company achieved significant media coverage and launched a digital loyalty program.
In 2015, Jamil co-founded Yellow Beauty, a company focusing on products made with turmeric, and established the brand's identity. In 2021, they joined Lovekind as the Marketing Director.
Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, Jamil worked as an Analyst/Administrative Officer at PWGSC in 2012, and as a Financial Officer/Executive Administrative Assistant to the Director General at Public Works and Government Services Canada in 2011. Jamil also gained experience as a Research Assistant at the Center for Public Management Inc. in 2010 and held Junior Analyst positions at Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat and Citizenship and Immigration Canada in 2010 and 2009, respectively.
Jamil Bhuya attended Lisgar Collegiate Institute from 2003 to 2007. After completing high school, they pursued their Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in International Business at the University of Ottawa from 2007 to 2012.
