Pumudu Ruhunage

Pumudu Ruhunage has a diverse work experience in the field of integration consulting and software engineering. Pumudu started their career as a Trainee Software Engineer at OrangeHRM in 2013 and later became a Software Engineer at the same company. In 2014, they joined WSO2 as a Software Engineer Associate, where they focused on research, development, and providing solutions for customer issues related to the WSO2 Message Broker. Pumudu gradually advanced to the role of Software Engineer and continued their work on improving and testing various features in the WSO2 product stack.

In 2017, Pumudu joined Mitra Innovation, where they initially worked as a Senior Software Engineer, leading a development team in developing and troubleshooting middleware integrations using WSO2, Talend, MFT, and AWS platforms. Pumudu then transitioned into the role of Technical Lead, where they led development teams for client engagements and spearheaded the integration development team in the Supply Chain workstream at Travis Perkins UK. During this time, they continued to work on middleware platforms and developed solutions while troubleshooting issues.

In 2019, Pumudu joined Yenlo as an Integration Specialist, a company that specializes in open-source and Java-based middleware solutions. Pumudu worked on implementation services, software development services, training and certification programs, and support for the WSO2 platform. Later, they were promoted to the role of Senior Integration Consultant, where they continue to excel in providing integration consulting services.

Throughout their career, Pumudu has gained expertise in various middleware platforms and has demonstrated proficiency in developing, delivering, and troubleshooting middleware integrations. Pumudu has a strong focus on open-source technologies and has worked with prestigious organizations in different countries.

Pumudu Ruhunage completed their MSc in Software Engineering from Kingston University in 2019-2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computational Physics from the University of Colombo from 2009-2013.

In terms of certifications, Pumudu has obtained several credentials from WSO2. Pumudu became a WSO2 Certified Identity Server Practitioner - V5 in October 2021 and a WSO2 Certified API Manager Practitioner - V4 in September 2021. Earlier, in April 2020, they achieved the certification of WSO2 Certified Identity Server Developer - v5. Before that, in June 2019, they acquired the WSO2 Certified API Manager 2 - Expert certification. Additionally, they obtained the WSO2 Certified API Manager 2 - Developer certification in October 2018, the WSO2 Certified ESB 5.0 Developer - Expert certification in September 2018, and the WSO2 Certified WSO2 ESB 5.0 Developer - Professional certification in May 2018.
