Lisa McGee has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Lisa started their career as a Corporate Communications Coordinator at Farm Bureau Insurance of South Carolina in 2000. After that, they worked as a Public Relations Manager at Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum from 2004 to 2006. In 2006, they joined the South Carolina Association of CPAs as the VP of Membership and Communications, and remained in that role until 2019. During this time, they also started their own freelance graphic design business, McGee Graphic Design, in 2008. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Teacher Assistant at Navarre United Methodist Church Preschool. Most recently, in 2019, they became the Marketing and Communications Director at YMCA of Columbia.
Lisa McGee attended the University of South Carolina from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication.
