Muhammad Maaz Khan

Muhammad Maaz Khan has worked in a variety of roles in the software engineering and research fields. In 2020, they joined Yobe Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented real-time artificial intelligence and signal processing algorithms for their Yobe Engine. Muhammad Maaz also developed the Yobe Engine for platform specific capabilities and reduced the data footprint of their proprietary audio cleaning library by 55%. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where they researched techniques utilizing ‘Device to Device’ connections to facilitate edge computing on Android mobile devices. Muhammad Maaz also implemented synchronous and asynchronous distributed stochastic gradient descent algorithms in TensorFlow and wrote a web-based security application in PHP and Python. In 2017, they were an Assistant Network Analyst at K-Electric, where they supervised and managed 11kV networks and oversaw day to day operations. Muhammad Maaz also introduced a computerized data entry system using mySQL and phpMyAdmin. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Teaching Assistant at Lahore University of Management Sciences, an Intern at Karachi Electric Pvt Ltd, and an Intern at Siemens. In 2014, they were a Social Media Intern at 3ilogic, where they worked on project Jugnu TV and performed analytics and wrote content for their website.

Muhammad Maaz Khan completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical Engineering from Lahore University of Management Sciences between 2013 and 2017. Muhammad Maaz then went on to pursue a Master of Science (MS) in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago, which they completed in 2020. In addition to their formal education, Khan has obtained various certifications from Coursera and LinkedIn, including Python Classes and Inheritance, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Using Python to Access Web Data, Python Data Structures, and Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python).
