Sergio Castaño Arteaga has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Starting from 2020, Sergio worked as a Software Engineer at The Linux Foundation, contributing to the building of Artifact Hub and CLOMonitor for the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. Prior to this, in 2019, they worked as a Software Engineer at Buoyant, Inc, where they made contributions to the Linkerd project. From 2013 to 2019, Sergio held the position of Senior Software Engineer at iPowow, where they redesigned and implemented the backend of their realtime voting and gaming platform. Before that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Inkwire, Inc. from 2012 to 2013, where they designed and developed a platform for collecting unstructured public data for investment intelligence. Earlier in their career, Sergio was a Principal Systems and Network Engineer at Formación Digital from 2004 to 2013, where they managed datacenters and servers and designed and maintained the company's data network. Sergio also worked as a Software Developer/Systems Administrator and a Linux/Networking Instructor at Formación Digital. In 2012, Sergio co-founded Parsel10, where they served as the CTO and oversaw all technical aspects of the company's online reverse auction platform for the car sale industry in Spain.
Sergio Castaño Arteaga attended the Universidad de Sevilla from 1998 to 2001, where they pursued a degree in Ingeniería de telecomunicaciones and Licenciatura en Física. However, they did not complete either degree. From 2001 to 2003, they attended IES Triana and obtained a Técnico Superior en Administración de Sistemas Informáticos degree. In addition to their formal education, Sergio also obtained the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification from Cisco in July 2008 and the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification in November 2010.
