Joy Richardson

Associate Director Of Special Education at York County School Division

Joy Richardson, Ed.D., currently serves as the Associate Director of Special Education at York County School Division and holds the position of Adjunct Professor at Regent University. With a comprehensive background in special education, Richardson has previously worked as a Program Coordinator for New Horizons Regional Education Centers overseeing programs for students with emotional and intellectual disabilities, and as Acting Senior Director of Learning Support at Norfolk Public Schools. Previous roles include positions at Hampton City Schools as a Special Education Coordinator and at Prince William County Public Schools as both a Summer School Principal and Special Education Teacher. Educational credentials include an Ed.D. in Adult Education and Special Education Leadership from Regent University, a Master’s in Human Resource Development from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor’s in Speech Communication from James Madison University.
