Dr Alexandra Woodall

Head Of Public Engagement, Curatorial And Collections at York Museums Trust

Dr. Alexandra Woodall currently serves as the Head of Public Engagement, Curatorial and Collections at York Museums Trust since October 2023. With extensive experience in the cultural sector, previous roles include Programme Director for MSc Cultural and Creative Industries Management and Lecturer in Arts Management at The University of Sheffield from September 2019 to October 2023, and Head of Learning at the Sainsbury Centre For Visual Arts from September 2016 to July 2018. Dr. Woodall has worked as an Interpretation Consultant and Researcher, advising institutions such as the British Council Mexico and developing exhibitions and educational programs for various museums. With a PhD in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester, research focuses on imaginative interpretation using objects in galleries. Dr. Woodall's early career includes roles in educational settings and diverse cultural organizations, emphasizing the development of innovative and inclusive audience engagement strategies.
