Sue Greenwood has a diverse and extensive work experience. Sue currently works as the Associate Head: Production at York St John University, leading media and music production courses and academic teams within the School of the Arts. Additionally, they teach journalism and conducts research on the role of Facebook in the public sphere and politics. Prior to their current role, Sue was a Senior Lecturer in Journalism at Staffordshire University. Sue also co-directed Open Book International Ltd. from 2006 to 2021. Sue founded and served as the Managing Director of Sweeble Ltd. from 2008 to 2013. Earlier in their career, they held positions as a News Editor at Telegraph & Argus Newspapers Ltd, Deputy News Editor at The Sentinel, and E-media Managing Editor at Northcliffe Media. Sue also worked as an Electronic Publishing Editor at Hull Daily Mail Publications and as a Regional Manager (North) at CSV Media.

Sue Greenwood completed their education in a chronological order starting from 1980 until 2019. Sue first attended the University of Lincoln from 1980 to 1983, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design with a focus on film and photography. Following this, from 1984 to 1985, Sue pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Radio and TV Journalism at the University of Central Lancashire. Finally, in 2013, they enrolled at Staffordshire University, where they completed a PhD program, although their field of study during this time is unspecified.
