Demetrius Amparan

Demetrius Amparan is an experienced nonprofit leader with a strong background in communications, community engagement, and donor relations. Currently serving as the Executive Director at Young Chicago Authors since February 2018, Demetrius has played a pivotal role in building a network of supporters for an organization that impacts over 10,000 young people yearly and hosts the world's largest youth poetry festival, Louder Than a Bomb. Previous roles include Director of External Relations and Recruitment at EPIC Academy, Communications Manager at A Better Chicago, and Director of Publications and Communications at Young Chicago Authors. Demetrius holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with dual majors in Communications and Public Relations, and Sociology from Valparaiso University.
