Alexander Schapowalow

Alexander Schapowalow is an experienced actuary and team leader in the actuarial field, currently serving as Teamlead of the Actuarial Business Unit at Youplus Assurance AG since April 2021. Prior to this, Alexander held roles at AXA as an Internal Auditor, focusing on risk management and governance processes, and at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd as a Senior Actuary, where responsibilities included business performance analysis and data visualization. Alexander's career includes significant experience with PwC Switzerland, where planning and managing audits in Solvency II and validating internal models were key functions, as well as a tenure at PAX, Schweizerische Lebensversicherungsgesellschaft AG, overseeing various actuarial processes. Academic credentials include a Fully qualified SAA actuary degree from the University of Basel and a Diplom Mathematiker from Heidelberg University, complemented by various internships and technical roles in the field of mathematics and software engineering.
