Hector Chaira serves as the Director of Education Programs at the Latino Film Institute since February 2023, previously holding roles such as Program Manager. From August 2021 to August 2023, Hector worked with City Charter Schools as Director of the Strong Workforce Program and as Coordinator of the same program. Prior experience includes Interim Program Manager III at Volunteers of America Los Angeles, where management of emergency shelters and transitional living programs occurred for unhoused youth and specialized populations. Hector has also worked in various capacities at Woodcraft Rangers and the Youth Policy Institute, focusing on program management and community engagement. Earlier roles include Program Director at CoachArt and a Teacher Assistant with the Los Angeles Unified School District. Education includes a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from California State University, Northridge, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Certificate in Drug and Alcohol Dependency with an emphasis in Criminal Justice from East Los Angeles College.
