Debbie Buyaki

Debbie Buyaki is a sustainability leader currently serving as Global Co-Lead and Co-founder of Youth for Ecocide Law-Africa since June 2023, while also acting as Core Lead Strategy and Policy for the organization's Youth Wing. With a strong commitment to ecological restoration, Debbie founded the project Let's Plant Trees Together under the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and has successfully facilitated tree planting across six continents. Additional roles include being an author and host of the Flight Over Nature’s View Podcast, a Champion for United People Global, and a member of the Major Group for Children and Youth in the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration Youth Task Force. Debbie also gained research experience as a Freshwater Conservation Extern at the National Geographic Society and worked briefly as a Court Registry Assistant at the High Court of Kenya. Academic credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology with a focus on Paralegal studies from the University of Nairobi.
