Ziv Bar-Yossef

Ziv Bar-Yossef is currently the VP of Engineering at YouTube, leading engineering efforts for YouTube Search, Knowledge, Images, and Learning since August 2023. Previously, Ziv served in various leadership roles at Google from August 2006 to August 2023, including VP of Engineering for the Consumer Shopping organization and as the engineering lead for Search Features and Search Verticals. Ziv founded the Search Verticals organization and the Live Results team, overseeing significant projects that enhanced Google Search functionality. Academic experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and holding research and teaching assistant positions at the University of California, Berkeley, and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Ziv earned a PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, along with an MSc and BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
