Sabina-Maria Mitroi has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. In 2019, they served as the President of she++, a non-profit organization focusing on empowering underrepresented groups in technology. During their time there, they organized events, worked on marketing, and collaborated with sponsors.
In 2020, Sabina-Maria worked as a Summer BWIT Insight Intern at Bloomberg LP, where they participated in a program to introduce students to the work culture and gained experience in Python, Agile Development, and Testing. Sabina-Maria also won first place in the Bloomberg Puzzle Competition as part of a team.
Sabina-Maria also worked as a Junior Web Designer at DC Web Design Agency, where they communicated with clients, gathered requirements, and created websites using WordPress and Front-End technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Sabina-Maria gained experience in the finance industry as a Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs in 2021. Sabina-Maria developed a black-box testing framework to compare test case execution across databases, reducing manual effort. Sabina-Maria also collaborated with the GS UX/UI Design team to prototype a custom user interface.
In 2022, Sabina-Maria joined Code First Girls as a Trainee Instructor, where they help teach coding skills. Sabina-Maria also started working as a Graduate Cloud Engineer at YouView TV Limited, contributing to cloud engineering projects.
At UCL, Sabina-Maria held various positions, including IT Training Assistant and Programming Tutor. In the former role, they helped students develop their learning skills and provided assistance with courses such as Excel, Scala, and Matlab. As a Programming Tutor, they supported first-year computer science students with coding skills and coursework.
Sabina-Maria was also involved in extracurricular activities at UCL, serving as the Transition Mentor for first-year Computer Science students and as the Executive Director, Welfare Officer, and First-year Representative for the UCL Romanian and Moldovan Society.
Additionally, Sabina-Maria was selected as the DSC Leader at their university by Google Developers, where they led the community and organized coding skill events. Sabina-Maria participated in the DSC Summit Europe remotely and had the opportunity to meet leaders from other universities.
Throughout their work experience, Sabina-Maria has demonstrated strong personal attributes, including a proactive and willingness to learn new skills, patience, tact, professionalism, and empathy.
Sabina-Maria Mitroi completed their high school education at Colegiul National Sfantul Sava Bucuresti from 2014 to 2018, with a focus on Mathematics and Computer Science. Sabina-Maria then pursued further education at UCL, where they obtained an MEng degree in Computer Science (with Engineering Mathematics in Finance) from 2018 to 2022.
In addition to their formal education, Sabina-Maria has also earned several certifications. These include "Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python)" from the University of Michigan | Coursera in August 2020, "Introduction to Data Science" from Code First Girls in June 2020, "Introduction to Python Programming" from Code First Girls in June 2020, "Introduction to Web Development" from Code First Girls in April 2020, and "5 Day Coding Challenge" from Code Institute in July 2019.
