Makiva McIntosh has a strong background in fundraising and development, with experience working in various organizations. Makiva is currently the Chief Advancement & Engagement Officer at YWCA Columbus. Prior to that, they worked at The Wellington School as the Associate Director of Development / Director of Annual Giving for six years, where they successfully managed fundraising strategies and secured over $3 million in support for the school. Before that, Makiva worked at Denison University in several roles, including Director of Legacy Giving and Director of the Annual Fund, where they led fundraising strategies, supervised a team, and oversaw the growth of the Annual Fund. Makiva also held the position of Assistant Director, Annual Fund at Denison University, where they managed reunion fundraising committees and implemented new strategies to increase online gifts. Makiva's early work experience includes serving as the Lead Organizer/Executive Director at Springfield & Clark County Justice, Action, Mercy, where they managed multi-religious congregations and increased fundraising results and volunteer involvement. Makiva also worked as an Associate Organizer, where they increased organization membership and organized initiatives to address educational issues.

Makiva McIntosh completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology from Denison University from 1998 to 2002.
