Julie Himler

Julie Himler has extensive experience in community education and advocacy, currently serving as the Director of Community Education and Medical Advocate at YWCA York since April 2017. In this role, Julie leads the agency's Medical Advocacy Project, providing training to healthcare professionals on the effects of sexual and domestic violence and promoting trauma-informed care. Previous roles include Intake Coordinator at Lawrence Hall, where the focus was on managing the intake process and collaborating with treatment teams, and Case Manager at Proviso Family Services, where Julie assisted clients with long-term mental illness. Additional experience includes roles at Meadows Behavioral Health, where partnerships with various community entities were established, and involvement in specialized outpatient treatment programs for convicted sexual offenders. Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Oregon.
