Venkatakrishnan Rengarajan has a diverse work experience in various research and engineering roles. Venkatakrishnan is currently working as a Microfluidics Engineer at Zafrens, a life science products company. In previous roles, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Utah State University and NJIT, and as an Entrepreneur Lead at NSF-iCORPS. Venkatakrishnan also completed their PhD at New Jersey Institute of Technology and Rutgers University, focusing on topics such as bottom-up tissue engineering and stem cell research. Prior to their PhD, they worked as a Research Assistant at Harvard-MIT Health science and technology and DRDO, Bangalore.

Venkatakrishnan Rengarajan obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology between the years 2013 and 2016. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Industrial Biotechnology from Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA), Thanjavur from 2006 to 2010. Additionally, they completed their earlier education at ERHSS and received a degree in Biology, General from SASTRA University, studying from 1999 to 2010.
