Josh Beers, Ph.D., is a Research Scientist at Zap Energy since January 2022, focusing on advanced fusion research. Previously, Josh Beers served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from August 2016 to August 2021, where research involved fusion materials and their erosion processes under divertor relevant plasma exposures. Prior experience includes a Graduate Research Assistant position at the University of Michigan - Rackham Graduate School from August 2014 to May 2016, concentrating on the failure mechanisms of neutron-irradiated austenitic steels, and a Summer Internship at Idaho National Laboratory in 2014, working on modeling the liquid vitrification process of radiological waste. Josh Beers holds a Ph.D. in Energy Science and Engineering from the University of Tennessee, a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Science from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
