Jonathan Smithies

Jonathan Smithies has a diverse work experience in various roles. Jonathan started their career as a Freelance Photographer in 2012 and later worked as a Freelance Interior Photographer for Design Matters KBB Ltd from 2008 to 2017. Jonathan then transitioned into the digital field and worked as a Digital Consultant for Liebusters from 2016 to 2018, where they provided digital consulting services. Jonathan also worked as a Digital Consultant for The Milestone Detox from 2017 to 2018, supporting the business's front end. In 2017, they joined Planyo Experts Ltd as a Specialist Developer, contributing their expertise until 2019. Following that, they joined LOQBOX as a Full Stack Software Developer in 2019, where they developed a new website using Craft CMS. In 2021, they worked as a Full Stack Software Engineer on a contract basis for Illustrate Digital, playing a significant role in developing a proof of concept SaaS web-based application. Concurrently, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Identitech from 2021 to 2023, spearheading the development of a secure, cloud-based identity verification platform and designing a RESTful API for customer integration. Currently, they hold the role of a Senior PHP Developer at Zapmap, where they started in 2023.

Jonathan Smithies completed a Coding Fellowship in Web Development at DevelopMe Training in 2019. Prior to that, they earned a BA(Hons) in Photography - Editorial and Advertising from the University of Gloucestershire between 2009 and 2012. Jonathan also attended Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry from 2012 to 2014, where they studied Christian ministry and revival theology. In 2007, Jonathan obtained a BTEC National Diploma in Photography from Amersham and Wycombe College. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in Mastering Typescript - 2023 Edition from Udemy in March 2023.
