Jimmy Hicks

Jimmy Hicks is a Sr. Manager, Devops at ZAP Surgical Systems, Inc. since 2022. Prior to that, they were a Cloud DevOps Engineer at WorkForce Software from 2021. From 2015 to 2021, they worked at Intuitive Machines as a Senior DevOps Engineer and Senior Development Engineer. From 2013 to 2015, they were an Aerospace Engineer at Bihrle Applied Research. From 2012 to 2013, they were an Aerospace Engineer at Emergent Space Technologies, Inc. During their time at Intuitive Machines, they modernized the software development process used for the NOVA-C lunar lander program, including containerizing legacy code and ensuring that new products have been developed using modern tools. At Bihrle Applied Research, they created C++ models of aircraft systems used in pilot training and developed simulation models for integrating UAVs into the national airspace. At Emergent Space Technologies, Inc., they were part of the Orbital Mechanics and Simulation groups with roles in simulation model development, verification & validation, and documentation. Jimmy also automated the build process for simulation code used to develop a system of cluster satellites for DARPA.

Jimmy Hicks attended Auburn University from 2004 to 2009, where they obtained their Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering (BAE). Jimmy then returned to Auburn University from 2010 to 2012 and obtained their Masters of Science in Aerospace Engineering.
