Senior Autonomy Engineer at Zeabuz

Vinicius de Oliveira has extensive work experience in various roles related to control systems design, research engineering, and autonomy engineering. Vinicius is currently working as a Senior Autonomy Engineer at Zeabuz since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Kelda Drilling Controls from 2015 to 2021, where they held roles such as Senior Research Engineer and Research Engineer. During their time at Kelda, their responsibilities included designing and implementing safety-critical autonomous systems for managed-pressure drilling, as well as working on high-fidelity hydraulics models and numerical solvers.

Before joining Kelda Drilling Controls, Vinicius worked as a PhD Research Fellow at NTNU from 2011 to 2015. Vinicius'sresearch focused on optimal operation strategies for dynamic processes under uncertainty. Vinicius also worked at EPFL as a Control Systems Design Research Assistant and completed their student thesis titled "Robust controller design using frequency domain data for industrial processes" during their time there.

Vinicius gained practical experience through internships at the National Institute of Science and Technology in Refrigeration and Thermophysics, where they worked on control systems design for cooling systems, and at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical System, where they developed optimal control solutions for crystallization processes.

In addition to their technical roles, Vinicius completed a training program at S2i - Intelligent Industrial Systems, where they gained programming skills and software modeling knowledge.

Vinicius de Oliveira pursued their education in a systematic manner, starting with their enrollment at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in 2005. Between 2005 and 2010, they focused on studying Control and Automation Engineering, specifically within the field of Engineering Cybernetics. Subsequently, Vinicius joined the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2011 for their doctoral studies. Vinicius dedicated himself to Process Control and Optimization and successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in 2015. Finally, Vinicius enrolled in the Udacity Nanodegree Program, specializing in Self-driving Car Engineering, which they pursued until 2021.
