Chiungtze (Joanne) Wang

Joanne Wang has a diverse work experience in the field of optics and engineering. Chiungtze (Joanne) is currently working as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Zemax, LLC since September 2020. Prior to this, they were employed at Silanna Semiconductor as a Sr. Product Engineer from February 2017 to October 2018, where they focused on optical simulation for UVC LED package design and testing at wafer and package levels. Chiungtze (Joanne) also worked at Excellence Opto, Inc. (EOI) as a Staff Optics Engineer from April 2016 to December 2016.

Joanne has significant experience at Qualcomm, where they held multiple roles. Chiungtze (Joanne) started as a Senior Testing Development Engineer in February 2011 and later served as a Senior Optical Engineer from January 2012 to October 2013. In these roles, they were responsible for optical yield loss issue-solving, writing optical characterization reports, and managing the optical characterization lab. Chiungtze (Joanne) also led the integration of plastic frontlight and touch film for thinner watches and conducted surveys to integrate light guide films with the Mirasol display. Additionally, they managed the weekly online technical meeting involving over 20 engineers.

Prior to Qualcomm, Joanne worked as a Research & Development Senior Engineer at Schmid-YAYA from July 2009 to February 2011. Their responsibilities included designing and developing Automatic Optical Inspection machines for PCB and PV industries. Chiungtze (Joanne) also gained experience as a Physics Designer at ASML Netherlands bv from May 2006 to October 2008, where they wrote specifications for optical modules and collaborated with suppliers.

Joanne's earliest work experience was as an Optical Engineer at Industrial Technoledgy Research Institute. During their tenure from 2002 to 2003, they used Zemax software for optical design of DVD-ROM and CD-RW drives and conducted lens fabrication and measurement, optical component characteristics, and optimization of the image system.

Overall, Joanne Wang has a strong background in optics engineering, with expertise in optical simulation, testing, characterizations, and integration of various optical components and systems.

Chiungtze (Joanne) Wang completed their education history as follows:

From 2019 to 2022, they attended National Chiao Tung University and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Photonics.

In 2008, they took a course on Advanced Optical Design using Zemax at Optima Research in London, focusing on Optics and Optical Design. This course lasted for a year.

From 2003 to 2005, they studied at Delft University of Technology, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Imaging Science and Technology.

Lastly, from 2000 to 2002, they pursued their Master's degree in ElectroPhysics at National Chiao Tung University.
