Mark Matijevic has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of translational research and biomedicine. Mark currently serves as the Senior Director of Translational Research at Zenas BioPharma since July 2021. Prior to their current role, Mark held the position of Director to Senior Director of Translational Research, Biomarker Discovery and Development at Boston Pharmaceuticals from December 2018 to July 2021.
From December 2007 to November 2018, they worked at Eisai, where they started as a Research Investigator and advanced to the position of Associate Director of Translational Biomedicine. During their time at Eisai, Mark led a core unit focused on translational research and was responsible for identifying and measuring biomarkers using various modalities. Mark also achieved several promotions within the organization, demonstrating their increasing responsibilities and management commitments.
Before joining Eisai, Mark worked at MGI Pharma as a Scientist to Senior Scientist from 2004 to 2007. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Research Associate at Abbott in the same year. Earlier in their career, Mark held the positions of a Senior Research Associate to Scientist at Zycos Inc from 1999 to 2003 and a Laboratory Technician I to III at Primedica Corp from 1997 to 1999.
Mark Matijevic completed their education with a Master of Arts degree in Biology from Harvard Extension School in 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from State University of New York College at Potsdam in 1996.
