Alan Krawitz

Alan Krawitz has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Alan started their career as a Freelance writer/reporter/editor for Newsday in 2001 and continued in this role until 2012. During this time, they also worked as a Freelance writer for Patch.com.

In 2008, Krawitz joined Bath Fitter as an Events/marketing/pr specialist, where they contributed to various marketing and public relations efforts until 2012.

In 2012, they became a Reporter for Forum News Group, where they covered news, features, and profiles in South and Central Queens. Alan also played a significant role in reporting on the Hurricane Sandy recovery and rebuilding efforts in Rockaways. Krawitz worked at Forum News Group until 2016.

From 2013 to 2019, Krawitz served as a Public Information Officer for the Long Island Rail Road. In this role, they provided timely and accurate information to LIRR customers, utilizing various communication platforms and messaging techniques. Alan also handled media relations outreach for MTA/LIRR press conferences and events.

In 2013, Krawitz worked as a Contributing Writer for both Mediabistro and Pepperdine University.

Starting in 2018, they joined Long Island Press as a Contributing Writer, where they wrote monthly profiles on local restaurants and covered special beats on local politics and education.

In 2020, Krawitz began working as a News Reporter for amNY Newspaper and Zenger News, showcasing their journalistic skills.

Alan Krawitz attended SUNY Oneonta from 1991 to 1993, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government.
